Theresa Thomas Named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Integrative Wellness

Diana Yacobi named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Jewish Education

Yacobi has an impressive background in Jewish education. As educational director of Temple Emanu-El, she focuses on providing supplementary Jewish education to students. Her areas of expertise include managing curriculum development, school administration, and mentoring teachers. Yacobi also teaches Hebrew reading, and she has spent the past several years focusing attention on that area of curriculum development. She recently founded Sarah and David Interactive, a successful media company specializing in Hebrew reading, writing and language, with her daughter Lily Yacobi, a businesswoman with a fresh concept about how to teach Hebrew.

Yacobi received her masters degree in Jewish education from Jewish Theological Seminary in 1995, and her bachelors degree in social studies from Ramapo College in 1990. She is a member of the Jewish Educators Assembly, The Network for Research in Jewish Education, and the Coalition for Advancement in Jewish Education. Cynthia J. Sebring Named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Secondary School Education

Annandale, VA.…July 4, 2007–Cynthia J. Sebring, MA, a teacher at Annandale High School for Fairfax County Public Schools, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in secondary school education. While inclusion in Cambridge Whos Who Registry is an honor, only one member in each discipline is named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee hand picks these special Who's Who honorees based on their accomplishments, academic achievement, leadership and service.

Sebring joined Annandale High School in August 2006 and currently teaches three levels of English. In previous years she conducted SAT preparatory courses and sponsored the film, German and Bible clubs. She has 21 years of experience in the education industry and previously taught five levels of German to high school students.

Sebring turned down seven offers before joining Annandale because, as she explains, “I heard great things about the students and faculty.”
She has extensive consulting and editing skills and translated press releases from German to English for The Kennedy Center. Sebring is also credited with hiring Broadway actors Rich Swingle (an internationally known performer of one-man shows) and Bruce Kuhn (Les Misérables, Chess and Gospel of Luke). to perform for the English and Drama departments at the schools where she has taught. Annandale High School is committed to developing young minds in preparation for higher learning and success in future endeavors in the business world.

Sebring is pursuing her Masters degree in theology at the Notre Dame Graduate School of Christendom College. She earned a Masters degree in English from George Mason University in 1987 and a Bachelor of Arts in German and English from George Mason University in 1981. She received the Congressional Youth Leadership Council Award 1999 and 2000 and was a member of the German Textbook Adoption Committee. In 2003, she held the position of consulting-in-house reporter on behalf of the American Anglican Council at their general convention.

Myron Pollycove, MD Named Two-Time Cambridge Who's Who Professional

Rockville, MD.…July 2, 2007–Myron Pollycove, MD, Chairman of Radiation, Science and Health, Inc. has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Radiation Oncology Research 2007-2008, the second year Pollycove has been honored. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee hand picks these special Who's Who honorees based on accomplishments, academic achievement, leadership and service.

Pollycove has been practicing clinical pathology and nuclear medicine for 57 years. As Chairman of Radiation, Science and Health, Pollycove performs research on the effects of high and low doses of radiation on health, cancer prevention and DNA structure. As Special Assistant to the Deputy EDO, Materials, Research, State Programs for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission since 1991, Pollycove provides expertise in the medical use and regulation of radioisotopes and research in the biological effects of exposure to low-dose ionizing radiation.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Physics from the California Institute of Technology and serving in the U.S. Navy in WW II, Pollycove received his MD from UCSF in 1950. He then joined the U.S. Army Medical Corps and participated in the Korean War investigating traumatic shock for two years. After completing a Harvard-Tufts internal medicine residency, he spent seven years investigating iron kinetics and intermediary metabolism as a research associate at the Donner Laboratory, Lawrence Radiation Laboratory at UC Berkeley. During 1962-1991, while Director of the Clinical Laboratories and Chairman of the Department of Nuclear Medicine, San Francisco General Hospital, he taught nuclear medicine and laboratory medicine at UCSF and SFGH, thereby continuing his research in those areas.

Pollycove is a member of national and international organizations representing nuclear medicine, hematology, clinical pathology, and is the Former President of the American College of Nuclear Physicians. He is the author of more than 125 publications and Professor Emeritus of Laboratory Medicine and Radiology at the University of California at San Francisco.
